The Farm
Frontieress Farm is a small, diverse farm nestled in the golden heart of the interior; Fairbanks, Alaska. In 2019, we started a couple dozen rows of flowers on friend’s property in town and slowly but surely expanded to growing 1.5 acres of both cut-flowers and diversified vegetables. We purchased a home property in 2021, working our way to turn what was once an aspen forest into a small farmstead where we keep our hoop houses, workshop, coolers, and additional fields.
Our mission is to build, exemplify, and advocate for small, local farming in Alaska. We are chemical free and use organic growing practices. We strive to sustain soil fertility by using compost, crop rotation, biodiversity, and natural field amendments and believe in seasonality and local availability.

Megan Schulze:
With roots reaching back to my grandparents’ farm in Belgium, I have carried an intuitive love of working the land. I began working professionally as farmhand in California during my off seasons as a wildland firefighter. Like wildflowers after a fire, I felt growth and renewal through this work. I helped build Earth Island Herbs’ Medicinal Demonstration Garden in the Ojai Valley. There I continued my journey into the great healing power of plants and artistry of nature. With a BA in Anthropology, I have travelled and worked with different agricultural projects around the world. But it was the great open spaces in Alaska that stole my heart. I feel privileged to be cultivating and sharing the beauty, vitality, and connectedness of nature.
Volunteers
We value each and every person that has selflessly come to put their hands in the dirt, help harvest for market, or otherwise helped promote our small farm. Please contact us at frontieressfarm@gmail.com to become a volunteer!
