Field Assistants 2025
We are looking for hardworking, positive, and committed individuals for the 2025 farm season!
We love growing beautiful flowers, organic veg, and healthy work relationships! While farming can be dirty and labor intensive, it is also incredibly rewarding to be outside everyday, feeding and flowering the community. We are looking for self-aware individuals who are interested in small farming in Alaska, and in learning and growing with us.
Overview of Responsibilities:
Greenhouse work: seeding, up-potting, and planting
Field prep: laying landscape fabric, spreading compost and amendments, laying irrigation lines, installing t-posts, and support netting
Transplanting, weeding, and cultivating
Harvesting, washing, and packing veggies
Flower harvest and arranging
Wednesday Farmer’s Market, and occasional fill-in for special events
Qualifications:
Farming experience is strongly preferred and/or experience with manual labor
We have two field sites, Herried Road and Cripple Creek Road. You must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and willingness to travel to both locations
Able to work 8+ hrs on your feet in all weather conditions
Physically fit and able to perform demanding and repetitive farm tasks (bending, squatting, lifting, kneeling, standing on a daily basis). You must be able to lift items up to 50 lbs.
Positive, punctual and good communication
Full Time (Monday- Friday, 9-5) or Part-Time (3-4 days per week). Position starts mid-April - end of September.
Compensation: $15-18, commensurate with experience, plus weekly veg
